* a prisoner serving a term of life imprisonment
Have heard the term applied to various people in various situations. Mainly it is used to refer to anyone making a commitment to (or forced to do) something that is likely to last thier entire life.
Instances for example;
Serving a life time in a correctional facility such as prison: Lifer
Reffering to a marraige: In it for my life time : Lifer
Gaming, social club or magazine subscription fully paid up or complimentary for life time: Lifer
These are just some I have heard.
Though ya gotta read the small print! Sometimes a life time agreement can mean something much shorter than your own lifetime! It may mean that you have signed up for the expected life time of a particular game where that subscription only covers you till the game (in the mind of its makers) dies from lack of players for example or becomes too expensive to host or the company goes belly up!
To add to " any females, any males, any lawyer's out there?" thread...figured to asking who's out there that's a Life time member?
I AR ONE
Aye, and will be suffering buyers remorse for awhile, but the borg I got is cool. I had a time when I had an idle, but paid for WoW account for months in a row, I figured, even if I'm idle, I can just jump back in without reupping or worrying about wasted time.. the game so far has promise, but is abit bare bones at the moment. they need some fun player driven events and true trek-style missions and epic raid/story arc.
