My Bridge Officer has 5 (or 6... can't remember for sure) ranks of the Torpedo Spread skill... but I don't really seeing it being all that useful (I just made Lt. 10)... am I missing something? I know it's an AoE attack, but ships really don't stay grouped together for long

there's a situation for it, but not really at the starting levels.

You might see yourself retraining for it between 30-40 though, maybe sooner

The first 15-20 lvls focus on you learning to 1v1 fight, sometimes a little bit more. Later on though you need to learn to either sustain your defenses against multiple hostiles, or increase your spread damage against multiple hostiles, depending on your playstyle/specialty.

Train your tactical officer in High Yield Torpedo, more useful.

I tried the spread for awhile and found it not very useful.

High yield is far more usefull. Even on small fighters I have found spread is pretty much crap, it doesnt take out any small ships, and barely touches the big ones. Give it a miss. (pun intented)

What, a torpedo spread with a chance of applying a dot to the location of the target's last position??
Yeah.. that sure makes it useful.

It's not a long range strike, 'ya know. The Torps are unguided. But short to medium range, no problem. Does the job well for what it is.

Did a long range strike with spread tonight with friend against a +1 Battleship. Friend took shield down just as i launched spread battleship was bracketed by 3 torps was a sight to see as it went down quick.

Hmm, two guaranteed guided torps, or three random who knows where they will land torps?

I know what skill im saving for my BO's .

My High yield Quantom torp volly usually kills a Bird of prey in one shot, tried it with full spread, and it barely made a dent in its shields.
