wouldn't science team counter that though? and yes your right. people drop WAY TOO MUCH CRAP.
Yah if you don't science team a hostile while scrambled, it happens often even if you've verified you're targeting yourself. Either way is a decent counter to carriers. However with anything a good pilot will overcome it and win.
>>>>Two of the things I enjoyed about Guild Wars was the ability to hit either Alt or Ctrl (depending on how one binds it) and being able to see all enemy or NPC targets at a glance. The second was the ability to hit one button and target my closest enemy.<<<<
You can map a key to target closest enemy, but unfortunately it only works for onscreen enemies (ie not behind you.) Supposedly there is a way to ignore deployables as targets, but I didn't see it last night.
so now the Feds QQ about not be able to spam space bar all the time in T5 against carriers, how SAD.
maybe its time to learn to target, we have done it since T1, how about you do it also ?
If Klingons can manage to target Feds in minefield of 50+ mines, i assume Feds can do it also, or is average Fed player somehow different then a average Klingon player.... ????
You can say what you want. Targetting, thats not a problem. That can fixed in your options, just you guys had to for the fed minefield. But please, stop attempting to draw a comparision between what a carrier does and what a minefield does.
A carriers *minefield* is FAR more proactive and running you down and dstroying you. They are VERY persistant. Scramble sensors? Yeah, ok, try that. Come back and let me know how it worked out for you when they just blow rsp. You helped them more than you hurt them. Now, add 2 more carriers and things really get out of hand.
Can we ram carriers? Yep. One ship alone won't do it though. Trading two ships for one is bad tactics. ;P
The problem isn't as visible iin salvage missions, as your generated ships don't seem to follow as well, and with all the movement from one node to another, but thats just not the case in solar wind or cracked planetoid.
I've tried healing people through it, I've tried using literally every single cooldown at my disposal to keep myself/those around me alive, but it's just not working. Do the fighters only do 10-15 dmg a piece. I'm sure thats about right, but theres sooooo many of them. Thats a lot of damage coming froma ship that is very, very hard to destroy. I don't want to see you guys lose carriers, to be sure, I think they are a cool concept. But I honestly, seriously have not seen Feds win (or even come in the neighrborhood of winning) a *single* t5 match that wasn't a resource battle, despite our gear advantages.
One other comment that I wanted to address. Stronger hulls, stronger shield and science ships? What is the unique fed advantage for having science ships? subsystem targetting?
I'm sorry, I've got just as much right to voice my opinion as anyone else. I keep hearing T1-4. The carriers ate not in t1-4. They are in 5. You can believe it if you want or not, but i'd be the first one trying help you guys if the situation was reversed. When people complained about viral, the answer was ap or sci team. When tbd problem was minefields we suggested tykens. I have not asked one time for carriers to be needed bi have only asked for suggestions on how to beat them or at least even the field. Lopsided pvp is no fun for anyone.
Now, once again, let's stay on topic. Can you provide us any insight on stopping them? The disadvantages of carrier? Other than having to be a Klingon to get one? J/k
