A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
Currently it takes somewhere between 4 to 5 minutes to clear one ground group, let alone the dozen groups in any map. We need primary attacks that deal more damage.
As someone here posted, ground combat is a real chore. It just something you are obligated to do if you want to progress.
Theres 2 types of players in this game. Those who vaporize groups of 6-10 mobs within a minute, and those who cant. if your in the "OMG 5 minutes to kill" group, its you not the game.
Theres 3 major factors in destroying enemies fast. Ill give you one, theres a reason why weapons have "expose" and "exploit" on them. Figure out the best types for each and which B.Os to put them on, and youll have 1/3 the puzzle figured out.

Hmm, care to elaborate a little bit more? Ground combat in STO really ain't my game, since i don't like it.
Currently i have my BOffs all equipped with AoE expose weapons, while i have a AoE exploit rifle.
Also, i am an engineer, and that doesn't helps since even with enemy neutralization kits my buffs only give me a 10% change to expose.
if it's taking you 5 minutes to clear a group you are doing it wrong.
Equip AoE expose weapons on all your bridge officers and keep two AoE exploit weapons (split beam variety seems to work best) on yourself. With this setup combat is all about getting as many expose procs as possible. Get abilities and bridge officers that proc expose with things like Lucky trait, target optics, nerve pinch, etc. Then run around smashing the 3 key (rifle butt) and whatever other expose abilties you have until you see the expose proc. Then quickly press 2 (exploit attack) switch weapons whenever your current one has it's exploit attack on cooldown. Another option is to equip a Bat'leth. All 3 attacks from this thing proc expose and they are all repeatable with no cooldown and have the highest DPS of any non-cooldown ability.

Ah, seems i have done most things right then, i just have no backup exploit gun
Also tried to equip my Klingon BOff with a bat'leth, but it's bugged.
I've found out that i was playing in a less efficient manner. Ever since CB, i've played favoring the mouse. Now that ground movement has been fixed, favoring the keypad goes a long way in making ground combat more enjoyable :p
I've bound the switch weapons to the numpad 0 key, All Boffs Target My Enemy to the numpad Del key, target nearest exposed enemy to the tilde key (above tab, behind 1) and enabled off-screen targeting.
This is the most efficient setup i could create. Now i do indeed clear whole groups in one minute or less
I support this idea and I do run with double exploit weps, all boffs with exposes and 2 boffs with expose skills, still boring as hell, I wish it could be like OB pvp pre hp boost.
Agreed. I'd rather not have to use all my skills during a single fight or else all fights are the same. Make them quicker so I pick some for that fight and use some others in the next!
Note also that currently, no guns share timers. You can have 2 split beam rifles, switch between them and use both special attacks independently. (Personally I think this is actually overpowered and helps trivialize content, but for now you can do it.)
Also make sure you're using the right kind of AE expose weapons. Use wider angle ones rather than single target or cylinder ones (at least on bridge officers for PvE).
Also, you can tell your away team to stand in a particular area. You can get fancy and position them all around for lots of flanking attacks but I generally just tell them to go as a group to the side of the enemy force so that either I'm getting a flanking shot or all of them are.
