I hit Lt Cmdr
I promoted a boff to Lt
I have a Lt console for that officer
I slotted that officer in that console
That officer has a space Lt ability

The problem: that Lt ability is greyed out and the boff cannot use it.... they can only use their ensign ability.

Help!

Just spitballing, but is iit a power with an arc (like tachyon beam which requires the ship to be in a 90' degree firing arc)? Where is it greyed? In the station list or in combat/space?

It's also dependent on your ship. Look under Character Status, Assignment. If the bridge officer is assigned to a console that can't use level II abilities, your BO won't be able to use his/her abilities even if they have the skills.

Google STO ship tier chart. It'll show you all the ships and what level BO skills allowed based on ship class.
