Kind of getting desperate here. I''ve been doing missions from Calhoun on Deepspace K7 and he gave me a mission to join any hostile encounter/border skirmish mission. I can't find either. I think it's a PvP thing or one of the planet activities, I cant' find either though.

Its a pvp thing. I doubt you'd like it given you haven't found the pvp queues yet...they are in the V menu on the minimap...

Ground combat takes less thought and is easier to gear up for... On space side, stick with the masses.

They don't actually have those descriptions if memory serves. Basically any straight up PVP (no special goals) that is F vs. K will satisify your Hostile Encounter requirement.
