# 1 Orions are revolting.

I see that characters in the Klingon Empire can only advance through PvP. That's exactly how Klingons should be. And it gives PvP tuners a place to all go and kill each other in "peace". Good on ya boys.

I was excited to see Orions available. So I rolled one up and--

Wait--why did my Orion Syndicate character wake up dead center of the Klingon Empire? What interest does my green pirate have in being a KDF errand dog? Why would I want to square off against a Naussican for bridge officers? That doesn't sound like any fun at all.

I should have woken up from a hangover in some back-asteroid bar. I should "acquire" bridge officers the time-dishonnored Shanghi way: drink them under the table or "drink" them over the head-- either way I get my man. I should be looking forward to a long and hedonistic career in pirac--er...um..."aggressive trading".

What am I doing on this PvP-rigged Klingon Bird of Prey? Where's my blockade runner? What's a bank and why aren't I robbing it? Whoa wait a minute fellas, I don't want to fight in house battles--I want to BET on them! Escort missions smeshkort missions: what'ya got and hand it over already. Klingon ships are nice--to strip for parts. But so are Federation, Naussican, Ferenghi, and whatever else isn't nailed down (bring a crowbar for the good stuff). Safety regulations are for saps. If it fits, it ships. Maulers are more better.

I'm not officer drunk--yet... minute a gimmie. Where the green wimin at?

Seriously Cryptic: no self-disrespecting Orion would have anything but "fair" and unbalanced "trade" to do with the Klingon Empire. If you're going to bother with Orions then do them up proper. And by "proper" I mean anything but.

Try again Cryptic. I think its time we Orion players revolted. Who's with me lads? Bottle of the good stuff to the survivors. Pirates ho!

Seriously, the more hos the better.

I agree its a bit sad that everyone is expected to be a good klingon solider but maybe when we get some PvE things will change and we will have an Orion and Gorn homeworlds.

Although that said there will never be enough content for each race that you wont have to do some klingon advancement or some PvP..

While you've been out drinking, the "green wimmin" have orchestrated one of the biggest scams in Orion history (and we have a VERY long history). Think it through. We lend the Klingons some expendable manpower (that's you) and 1500 'slave' girls to plant suggestions in those bony craniums. The Klingons fight the Feds. The Feds fight the Klingons. Fight, fight, fight. And while they're fighting, who's protecting the shipping lanes, hmmm?

Now patience is a virtue, but I trust in the due course of time Orions will have our own ships, our own clothes (or lack thereof), and our own missions and goals that distinguish us from our erstwhile Klingon stoog... errrr, allies.

And in that vein, all the races should have some race-specific quest lines. For the roll-your-own races, allow a pick of the race you're most closely related to, or have a generic storyline relevant to a displaced individual of a less-known species.

It's very obvious that the orions are manipulating the klingons even based on what little lore they released.

What's an Orion to do with virtue? All that "honor" nonsense is for the Klingons, usually their favorite excuse to shoot you. "Integrity" is a word only the Federation use, usually when they want to cheat ya. And don't go mixing me up with the Ferengi neither. My only "business rules" are "take what ain't nailed down, bring a crowbar for the rest...and bring a big gun for when they're lookin' (disruptors are dandy but maulers are more better)".

Far as I'm concerned my "own ship" is whatever the sap wrong end of my disruptor's piloting. "My missions" are my business...unless there's somethin' in yer missions fer you ("you" meaning "me"... when you're either outgunned or not looking). Sure war's good for opportunity. But its a Romulan's job to set up the big wide stuff. Not to worry: they're good at what they do too. But never forget: we're just here to "capitalize on the moment".

This moment, right here. Don't give me none of that far off scheming nonsense. Ya can't drink a plan. But you can drink from the bottle in your hand.

"At least we're honest and up front with you and with ourselves about who we are and how we act. Not like all those other races with their "civilization", "empires", and "codes of conduct". Bah. We all know they're just jealous of the simple enlightenment that is the Orion way. Given the opportunity they'd do the same. We make liars of them all."-- Captain Maus, Orion drunken sage and philosopher.

Here, here...get those Predator looking, distracting green women, egg-eaters and Star Wars wannabes out of my KDF. If we wanted to have you on our ships we wouldnt have conquered you!

Now on my Starfleet ship, I embarce all...but that ship got lost in a charcter log rift a long time ago.

But on my Klingon ship you aint worthy of me even looking you in the eye as you bleed on my blade. Ok, Talash is different...I really didnt want him, but I mistakenly invested too many Bo skill points into him before I remembered to replace him with a klingon canidate. He kind of grew on me and has proven himself worthy...i just might keep him...but he is still an egg-eating Gorn!

Since you already have to go through federation 'basic' in the tutorial, and need to play abit to unlock a Klingon slot anyway, it would be beneficial to have some species specific starting points. Kinda like how in WoW your initial race could start you in different beginner map locations.

I could see a different setting for Orions, Gorn. Letheans and Nausicans could probably be placed in either setting, they're more mercenary anyway. Orions would have their syndicate opening. Gorn would have the 'conquered people' on ....Gornia (? hell I don't know), I would have liked it if Liberated Borg Klingons had their own beginning place too.

There's a Klingon for ya: big ball of pride, ambition, and honor... but no sense of humor, wealth, lust, or irony. I've never heard a Klingon poet that didn't beg to be stabbed out of our misery. And I've never been in the company of a Klingon "entertainer" without drowning one of us in something fairly high proof. Imagine a whole people utterly useless in a joke. Now add bumpy foreheads and you've arrived on Qo'Nos.

Ever seen a Klingon dance... let alone a Klingon female dance?

I've never wanted to leave a party sober--until that happened.
