It seems whoever made this website has very little knowledge on the UK. Here is the flag that is meant to represent the United Kingdom in the language drop down list on the main page,

It may look alright from a distance but this is not the flag of the United Kingdom at all. This flag is actually the flag of 1707, the union of the kingdoms of Scotland and England which would be known as Great Britain. Here is an enlarged picture of it,

The correct United Kingdom flag was created in 1801 and is used to the present day, note the red diagonal lines which represent Northern Ireland,

This is a small point but it was very confusing to see a flag over 200 years out of date used to represent the countries!

Epic fail crypitc! Epic fail!!!

How can you possibly make such a gigantic error. Using a near-identical but outdated flag design in a language selection menu. How will this game survive?!?:p

Yes, I was confused also when I immediatly noticed the very obvious incorrect uk flag symbol in the language selection menu. I was thinkingto myself "this obviously can't be STO, this must be some other 300-year old game that shares the same name". I almost cancelled my preorder over it in the confusion.

Good to know we are on the same page! I hear they were contemplating using the French flag to represent the USA as well. This of course would be super confusing!

Ahh, but it could be the flag of 2409.

Something must have happened to Wales in the mean time.

Maybe we sold it to the Ferengi for some beads.

it has to do with size and how many pixels can fit in a given space, if they included red in that space it would either block out the white or make it look pink,

I'm prpbably one of the few Americans who noticed that issue as well, but as the quote says above, this is probably the reason that version of the UK flag is shown. Of course all americans know that the UK is the 52nd state after Canada.

Now I gotta go hide from all the flame posts I'm about to get.

No offense, but thats like complaining that there aren't 50 stars on the US flag in the first image. The flag size is about 17px by 12px, cut them some slack.

I applaud the OP for his attention to detail but really, of all the things to choose to complain about...

I think perhaps you were either only semi-serious about this, or perhaps should consider being a tad more relaxed in this particular instance.

Indeed, the flag Icon for the US would have been accurate in 1803. I'm furious at the OP for not noticing that, and demanding Cryptic fix it as well.

Or the other answer. In the future, Northern Ireland is no longer park of the UK.
