Raptor is very similar to a bird of prey, the main differences being combat cloak. turn rate and hull strength with the raptor having a slightly stronger hull than the bird of prey. Is this enough to offset the BoP's advantages? Probably not but the raptor is still a decent ship, it's just the BoP's used correctly are phenomenal
Raptor has the highest dps output of all the klingon ships. That's what its good at.
(reffering only to Tier 2)
But it doesnt really, if it's nose is only able to point at the target (just for example) a fraction of the time a BOP can point it's nose at a target , then the BOP is doing more damage. I of course am reffering to close range combat.
I imagine if you equip one specifically to do long range then maybe the tables change, then its use would be more supportive in nature, hang out on the outide of combat throwing its damage out from longer range where it isnt required to to have to turn a lot. But close in...the BOP will outdamage it easily as normally the enemy cant get away from it.
Hmmm.....perhaps I will try and see about outfitting my Raptor for such a purpose and give it a try....food for thought.
