Aye, when I got my promotion to LtCmdr I selected the Raptor, and a little bit later went and bought the BOP for 20k creds.
When your at either a star base or home planet, you can go to the area where you "select your ship" and your list of officers and you and the 2 ships now are, you can select either one and then hit the button "Make current" and then THAT ship will be the one you are flying around. You can swap out as desired that way.

I only hit T2 with my Klingon in OB, and went for the QulDun. I absolutely loved it. A combat cloak properly used is an amazing way to turn the tables when things go south.

For my live Klingon, who is also only T2 for now, I decided to try the Raptor.

The first thing I noticed was the turn rate. Not bad, but not as sprightly as the BoP. The second thing I noticed is I die a lot more often, just like my Federation escort.

The BoP isn't exactly a cruiser either when it comes to taking hits, but being able to hit the combat cloak when you see the FedBall Express heading your way and circle around behind them to catch stragglers is just too tasty to give up.

Throw in bridge officer flexibility and you have two good reasons why BoPs are so common in hostile engagements.

The problem with the Raptor is it really isn't a better escort than the BoP. Personally, since there isn't a T2 cruiser for Klingons, I would prefer to see the T2 Raptor converted to the T2 cruiser.

Perhaps why TDM is totally borked? Do away with it for only Duels and Team Duels...or time fillers for the current random queued p1ssing contests.

Give us good objective based, open war PvP campaigns.

Lastly, for now, it sounds like us Klingons need to follow our own advice. Perhaps we need to treat our Battle-Cruisers like support vessel so we can continue to dish out damage, but also support the Raptors in-close as DPS multipliers.

A BoP is not just a Raptor with a battle cloak no matter what anyone says. The Raptor has more officers slots, stronger hull and higher dps.

It really is just a different style of play. People lean towards the BoP more because stealth is a nice crutch in pvp. But at the higher levels in this and any game, it's just a tactic to be countered like any other. If you prefer solo style play, then yes, Raptor for pve and BoP for pvp, but f you are running a build in teamplay, then both ships have roles to play in either.

I'll just echo an earlier statement: t2 misses cruisers. Without those, escorts will be taking the most fire, and as a raptor.. yeah. It also causes serious balance issues when most matches consist of five escorts, sometimes a science ship, and most of the time a massive ball of cruiserfeds coming your way. I like cruisers (wishing klings had a T2 myself, seeing as i want a cruiser.) but this is ridiculous. It feels like the easy way to win against klingons is to just bring 10 cruisers to a fight and watch the stonewalling by not being able to take down the tankers.

Im going to evetually buy me a Raptor and prove its worth...I just have no doubt its worth Is as an adjunct to the batte cruiser...not a Fleet anchor.

I've bought one every rank trying to do that.

The problem I run into is that the bridge officer layout kinda sucks. Extra tactical officers for extra T1 Tactical skills just isn't worth that much.

Maybe in T4, though.... (...same thing I said in T3 and T2...)

if they bumped the raptors hull and stuff up to being like a cruiser, than it would be worth a damn , BOP is just superior. Only thing I noticed was that the raptor seems like it lives a bit longer than the bop. But thats probably just because everyone knows that bops have to be targetting first or the will laser your face off.

Raptors are escorts. They should be a bit more heavily armed than what they are now. Basically, what i see from players on both sides is that it's regarded as a BoP with no battlecloak and some weird officer placement options. It would be nice to see the specialty (I believe raptors get a special skill) upgraded, apparently it was nerfed to hell and back to the point of it not being usable anymore.

Raptors do not get a special "skill" like Battlecloak or Target Subsystems, and to my knowledge they never had. Any early CB players can confirm?
