# 1 Science get the shaft

Tell me why science officers or science ships are in any way useful?
There suposed to be the "healer class"

Anything you say I will answer with...

"There is no death penalty" ....nothing...at all you are not needed, get an escort be useful, be a engineer drop an extra turret.

Infact the game promotes dieing ....look at Ramming speed or self destruct lol.

Science in STO = fail.

Its true
(love the game though) ....mostly

It might fail in groups, but it's great for solo. I can take out D'deridexes in less than 20 seconds.

i like my science officer.. and ya there is no real death penalty.. but you know what..flying back to where ever you died at or running back to where ever you wiped at is a good enough reason for me not to die.

science is not the 'healer class', there is no healer class and if there was it would be engineers in cruisers.

science is the 'mess with stuff in a high tech way' So they are more of the buffer/debuffer class.

I cant even fathom how many times a problem in star trek has been solved by shooting tachyon partials at it

If you would be science you could use viral matrix yourself?

Also, I am science, flying science vessel, and have had no problems in pve so far.
