science ships are awesome. I am almost jealous. It's almost unfair at times.

Well the official website makes it sound like a healer class, i even heard in a post the reffered to it as
DPS/TANK/HEALS when reffering to the 3 classes.

rimary Role: Fleet support, ally aid, battle control. Specializes in buffs, debuffs and control.
Special: Advanced shields, innate subsystem targeting, innate cloak detection; bonus to Auxiliary power.

"ally aid" makes it sound like healing to me.

Just another half ass description for something that is missleading or unclear.
Like the rest of the game.

It does not say "healing" so any inference you have made to that effect is your own fault.

Sensor Jamming + crowd = ownage.

Seriously, I love sensor jamming, it makes everything in range start shooting at it's allies.

If that alone doesn't justify the science class, I don't know what does.

There suposed to be the "healer class"

Anything you say I will answer with...

"There is no death penalty" ....nothing...at all you are not needed, get an escort be useful, be a engineer drop an extra turret.

Infact the game promotes dieing ....look at Ramming speed or self destruct lol.

Science in STO = fail.

Its true
(love the game though) ....mostly
All I see here is a big ol' pile of "your opinion."

First of all, my science vessel isn't a healer, it's a de-buffer. I can target subsystems, destroy shields, and hold enemy ships in place while the group wails on them. I even have stealth.

Second of all, I don't want to be a glass cannon or a tank. I wanna be a de-buffer. It's fun.

I love my ship. The Archimedes can seriously mess the enemy up.

the respawn timer + travel time back to the fight + (the possibility of) waiting for power levels to come back because you used full impulse to get back to the fight + (in solo) the hull repair to 100% on enemy ships is enough of a dealth penalty to me.
