Keep in mind, I am talking about admiral PVP here... Other ranks may not have this issue because they can't stack as many reverse polarity timers.
I'm normally an escort captain, and I am fully skilled for escorts... but I decided what the heck I'd try out a cruiser for PVP. Skilled it up with 1x hazard emitters, 1x sci team, 4x reverse polarity, 1x eng team and simply could not die in PVP. Any time I was actually at risk of my shields being low, I had a reverse polarity timer up and with hazard/eng team together my hull would never drop enough to die by bleedthrough.
Spent a good deal of time PVPing in the cruiser today and this link is just an example of a normal PVP game with the cruiser. I just win in DPS by time spent in combat because of no deaths.
All that said, I do not feel there's an imbalance in PVE. Cruisers are right where they need to be in that case. Just the repetition of reverse polarity on BOs becomes insanely powerful in PVP and may need some kind of limitation.
this is a known issue and was discussed previouos when klinks were (and prob still are) doing this.
not sure if cryptic is dealing with it as no response in the other threads i watched ever surfaced from them...
