What is the maximum number of bridge officers I can have commissioned at end game? I had initially planned to have 5 officers specifically for space and 4 for ground. I currently have a light cruiser with 3 consoles and the maximum number of officers I can have commissioned is 4. I'm going to assume this means when I get my star cruiser I will only be able to have 6 commissioned officers (5 to man the 5 consoles +1 extra). Is this correct?

At Admiral rank 3 you can have a maximum of 10. Duno how much at higher lvls, and above admiral rank 5.

I do have another question though... After closer observation of the info on STOwiki I was confused... The total number of consoles for a Star Cruiser is 9. However, the total number of bridge officers is 5. So, there are more consoles than bridge officers on a Star Cruiser (i.e. Tactical has 1 Lieutenant but 2 consoles). Can someone explain what this means?

In a nutshell, bridge officers aren't tied to consoles, their numbers are independant of each other.

So does this mean when I'm in space I'll have 5 bridge officer's active or 9? And, if it's only 5 what's the point of the 4 additional consoles?

The consoles serve as a form of system enhancement to your ship.

And if you ever watched Star trek, you must know that not all consoles on a ship are manned all the time.

Basically, as it has been said already, you can have a maximum of 5 officers "active" in space and 4 on the ground.
They are not linked to the consoles, but to the available bridge stations.

I prefer to put things like this:

BO's are assigned to a ranked chair on your bridge. The number of and rank of chairs depends on the tier and class of ship you are commanding.

The consoles are "upgrades" for the various major systems on your ship.
