As the title says.

I'm flying JHDC with elite JHAS. Polaron beam build heavy into flow caps (Plasmonic Leech) for some great drains. PVE.

I just don't know which of the engineering tier 3 benefits the most. Marion sure helps for a few seconds against FAW/BO drain and stacking with the shield penetration is great. A2B helps recharge which is superb but the Plas Leech makes sure nearly all power levels are running Max most of the time.

So, please help.. Which would or do you guys use?

a2b is not intended to raise your powerlevels anyway...it's a bonus. You mainly use it with 2-3 technicians to cut cooldowns of BOFF abilities in half.

you are not supposed to even use a2b 3...2x a2b1 is sufficent...even 1 a2b1 with 3 VR technicians is sufficent to keep DEM 3 on GC.

so, you normaly have both.

Neither. A2B gimps the JHDC, and Marion is not needed in the current state of the game. I would use the highest EptW possible.

woodwhity has a fair point, since the ship already comes with 6 Tac boff seats...putting a2b on it doesn't really yield much profit.

I assume you mean Aux to Battery 2? There is no rank 3 in that boff skill.

The main point for A2Bat is to use the Technician boffs to reduce other skill cooldowns. You don't really need this in the JHDC because you have plenty of TAC boff slots.

I would suggest 2x purple DCEs for your EPT powers. Then slot A2Damp if you like and run the boff that extends the duration of resists with A2Damp -- it's a nice combo. M/AM I believe is the doff category.

How does A2B gimp the JHDC? Are you trying to make it a healboat? There are more things in the game than tac powers you know. You will have system cooldown on EptW, EptS, DEM/RSP, TT, ET, ST, BFAW/CRF and your Attack Pattern. You could even go half A2B and half A2D.

On majority of ships Non Aux2batt builds have more DPS potential than Aux2batt builds.

The JemDread doesn't need A2B.

Just because a ship can slot A2B doesn't mean that will make it better.

A) there's no Aux2Batt 3, only ranks 1 and 2.

B) if there was Aux2Batt 3, it'd be a Commander ability, thus impossible to use on the JHDC.


And IMO - without giving it much thought, just off the top of my head - Aux2Batt is sorta wasteful on the JHDC, what are you gonna use for tac abilities?

I'm not going to make a list here about every single ship but for example the Fleet Galaxy X actually does better with Aux2batt bc of lack of Tac stations.
