As Wil Wheaton says, geekdom is a self-assumed label. Anybody who wants to be a geek or nerd is one. And nobody can deny that.

But that doesn't work in reverse, does it? If I don't want to be a nerd...?

(how long have you been holding onto that one?)

Well, actually Mr. Tacofangs sir, quite a while. I just needed the right moment to shoot it out.

You surely won't believe me, but where this one came from, there is much more.

Please do. Kudos to you all for a job well done.

If I may make a suggestion to the "Ladies of STO"...
There are a number of local schools in Los Gatos, CA who would benefit from having you as guest speakers. As a local parent, it's important for our sons (and esp daughters) to see women who are working in your industry.

Please consider reaching out to the local schools, maybe the elementary schools where you can address a larger audience. If you packaged an assembly presentation that shows how women ARE active in the industry, that it's not "just for boys", maybe you'll leave an important, positive impression -- esp. on these kids who are more likely to enter into Silicon Valley's ranks.

The middle school and high school kids are typically "too cool" to reach. Impress upon the younger minds.

Just a suggestion.

And please DO visit with Terilynn, Mike and Nick again soon.
