I can kill them, don't get me wrong. It's just that they have both health and shield buffing abilities, apparently, and every time I get their shield down, they come right back up, making it a very, very long fight. It's especially tedious because they can't really dent anyone on my team (ground combat being ridiculously easy from a survivability perspective). Is there some way to stop them from constantly healing and putting their shields back up to finish them off more quickly?

I'm gonna stay out of that whole debate above about combat - and just go for the answer
RC's are not an easy kill thats for sure, though I did take one one mission with a wierd race (I should of wrote it down because its not one of the common races) and the end guy was a blast to fight - harder than the RC and really made you use surround taticts.
But back to the RC, my fav tatict on these is to run in and just before group contact drop a phaser and medicial turret, then as the BOs come running up I take two pop shots at the Commander while runing past them giving me his attention. By this time my team now have the flanking advantage (my Tac BO usually runs up to me - the others stay back with the First Phaser / Healer Turret) and my Eng BO drops a 2nd Phaser Turret beside mine - with the total surround we then go for the Medic Commander, any grunts then the Commander himself (who up to this point usually stays focused on me because I'll keep giving him a "love tap shot" every once in a while

)
Overall RCs and their groups are fun to fight - maybe a bit of a long fight if fighting in a clumpy space (a few bases with all these barrels and boxes are a pain for the flanking), but they entertain me
