# 1 Do AI ships cloak?
02-16-2010, 09:31 AM
I haven't seen any AI Klingon ships cloak yet. Last night me and another light cruiser destroyed about 15 of them and none of them tried to cloak. You would think that the last one in each group would have cloaked to escape being destroyed. Maybe this a lower level thing and they will start using their cloaks at higher levels.

Yes, yes they do. A single Klingon ship will not, but when you're fighting the clusters of 3 Birds of Prey (provided you aren't killing them too quickly) the one you're shooting at will cloak out and you'll have to switch targets until he uncloaks (or you uncloak him if you have ann appropriate power)

Yes, birds of prey cloak during combat, only for a short time though.

I've seen several bird of prey cloak after taking severe damage. Upon cloaking I also lost target...

They don't do it at the lower levels. I think the first time I saw it was somewhere in LC.

Yeah, you have to be up a few levels before they start cloaking.

Are they cloaking though or using some equivalent of Jam Sensors that makes you lose the target? If they were cloaking, their shields should drop allowing you to get in a couple of hull hits before they vanished, right?

It's Battle Cloak...which technically I don't think any TRUE Klingon would actually use....

That's a coward's way out. A Klingon will fight to the death, even if he's losing....There's no honor in losing to a better opponent....There IS dishonor in running away like.

Klingons are all about Honor. Love em/hate em...They are honorable foes....and Battle Cloak is not an honorable tactic.

A Klingon will use cloak to ambush, but never to run away.
