# 1 Room for Expansions?
02-16-2010, 10:08 AM
I was just curious, since many of the non "power levelers" will be reaching admiral with in a month or two, what will we do for expansions?

I think they should have made captain the cut off point or something.

In WOW they went from 1-60 and then added 10 levels

What will we do? Go from Admiral to Super Admiral? That just sounds horrible. Why would they allow us to max out our rank so early on in the game?

Is there nothing left after Admiral except to come back and play expansions under different races?

Nope. Hence the reason so many people are complaining. Other than the missions to Admiral, that's about it to the game- at least so far.

Yeah, I just don't understand how they will manage to update the level cap with the current design they have.

I think eventually the game will have more content in the middle and then XP will be slowed to make room for people to do that content - so instead of 80 hours of casual play it might take 120 hours. I think the End-game will have a lot of raid/fleet action missions to keep people busy, with maybe a bi-weekly multi-part Episode. Eventaully a Romulan Faction will be added to the game as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Tr...riginal_Series 80 episodes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Tr...nimated_Series 22 episodes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Tr...ext_Generation 178 episodes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Deep_Space_Nine 176 episodes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Voyager 172 episodes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Enterprise 98 episodes.

100,000 comic book stories.

10,000 novels.

Eleven feature films.

There is plenty of material, both old and new, to adapt into expansions. It's not just about a DING! noise and leveling.

I don't believe they'll update the level cap for many years, and when they do it will just be 5 additional levels to Fleet Admiral, all IMHO.

Why does an expansion always have to be a rise in character level?

Who cares about a level cap? It's a distracting shiny. I hope they **** in the face of convention and have the stones to break away from the old way of doing things.

I'd like to see the Gamma and Delta Quadrants. Raids that consisted of more then 5 players. Fleet Events for your "Fleet". New playable races (Romulans, Cardassians, Jem'Hadar, Hirogen, and Borg). I'd pay to have more character slots if I could play all those races. There is so much they could do to this game besides "increasing level cap"

EDIT: I'd like to see the Alpha Quadrant too. Most of the content we have no is Beta Quadrant stuff.
