Im not exactly mean the design...i mean the details. Some 3d ground models, like the sovereign, look worse than some 3d models of bridge commander. isnt it impossible to add more detail to the ships ? or they maybe afraid of less frames per minute ? cant understand that
It probably is a fps issue. The more detail on an object generally equals to lag.
Just from a former developer/designer/3D artist. Can be a pain putting painstaking detail on an object that causes game performance to drop and require people to get expensive cards to run (non consule games).
I wouldnt mind more choices in hull art. Love the Leo design on the feds. With the right hull color you can look like an evil candy cane bringing phaser damage to the galaxy instead of an upset stomach.
you fail. this means nothing when that 1920x1080 is spread over 40+ inches.
Note that the use of the word resolution here is misleading. The term “display resolution” is usually used to mean pixel dimensions (e.g., 1920×1200), which does not tell anything about the resolution of the display on which the image is actually formed. In digital measurement the display resolution would be given in pixels per inch.
a 42" 1080 tv is in the neighborhood of 52 pixels per inch.
a 19" widescreen is about 89 PPI
There's a reason that each ship type has 3 classes at each tier. One is a classic Trek design, and I assume you don't have a problem with those. The next is an "updated" version of a classic hull design, and the final is Cryptic's own design. It was a dev post somewhere on the forums but don't remember exactly where.]
Not entirely true.
The T3 escort is actually just two classes of ship.
3. Cryptics own design
Despite teh Norway/Akira being two different ships =/
