afaik anything that drains power or disables engines will stay active, won't it? sometimes f.e., when i'm on my dainer, someone avtivates it and appears barely a few km away.

300% of engines with low/offline power because of drain isn't that much in the end =P

Maybe blackpoo works too.

There are plenty of ways to deal with vapers using this console. I'm not going to list them out for you here though, as I run a setup with this and don't feel like giving everyone the key to its backdoor... I will say though, I can't even count how many times I have died in phase because torpedo spread somehow follows you into another realm of space. Reminds me of how torpedoes can also magically follow cloaked targets. Starships with full sensor suites can't detect cloaked ships, but once you fire a torpedo it can still track a cloaked ship? Oh and then there is the pet bug that has never actually been dealt with. Hmm...great game mechanics we have here with cloaking.

Is there a way to stop it from activating in the first place? By disabling Aux, perhaps?
Take it easy!

Another thing, people who use this often fly away from their healers

They uncloak, alpha + jump and bye bye. The Singularity core jump wasn't that much a problem because is a straight foward jump that you can always predict, but this undine thing is even more hard to catch than the impulse cell.

Train your SCI BOF with: Tractor Beam Repulsors I/II and for fun use both I/II or have two SCI BOF with II. Then watch what happens in 8472. Did this yesterday was like after another set of weapons.

The torpedo thing can work sometimes, but they will be able of run away most of the times anyway. Disable/drain engines is extreme situational, it "can work", disable or drain a vaper that only stays in combat for 5 seconds is not an easy as it sounds, and again, it must be sci.

As an escort pilot there is nothing i can do. Before that damm thing i could play mouse & cat and catch them. It wasn't 100% effective, but if they do any little mistake, they die. With this thing they can do all wrong, and still get away alive.

So the counter to vapers is sci, just something you have to live with when you fly a tac/escort. Considering how much vapers invest to be able to get away, it should take an equal investment in order to be able to have a good chance to catch them.
