A now closed thread got me thinking about the Founders and Jem'Hadar. What the topic was about is irrelevant to this discussion though.

My parting thought was this "the problem is without a war they don't have a future. They have no mother, the eggs are "grown" not "born". Created

if the war ended and they were no longer needed as shock troops they would simple die out. They are not a self sustained race"

So what if the Founders were killed, disabled and the Jem'Hadar were left isolated to grow and mature as their own, like a Borg collective cut from the hive and stranded on a unknown world.

What would become of the Jem'Hadar in a generation or 2?

I imagine they would simple die out.

They can not reproduce, and require Ketracell White to survive. Cut off from artificial means of creation (but lets assume some KW foundries) what would become of them?

They will start killing each other, white or no.

They might go insane, too. But I'm not going to that planet to find out.

It's life, Nekollx, but not as we know it...

though to be serious, the Founders probably just kill them, the changlings consider them to be little more than tools or well trained pets. And they're infinitely obediant, tell one to shoot itself in the head and it would obey without question.

Not true. The Jem'Hadar at the prison where Worf was held refused to kill him even when ordered to (because Worf had shown himself to be so honorable).

Refused when ordered by another Jem'Hadar.

If a Founder had told him to Worf was dead meat.
