# 1 Bridge Officers 2nd powers
02-18-2010, 05:24 PM
I made Lt. Commander and got my 2nd power for her to use , and then I promoted my Engineer to Lt and he also got the 2nd ability that I slotted. Since then I promoted them all to Lt. to unlock the 2nd powers but none have shown the abilty toolbar. Some of the abilties I have put points into I could use like Tractor beam to stop klingons from clocking . What have I got to do to open these skills up to the BO officers toolbar?

Your ship has only one Lt. Comm boff space (depends what type of ship you took) so only one of your Bridge officers can use the second ability. All of them can use the ground abilities when doing away team missions.

BOff space skill are limited by the rank of the bridge station to which they're assigned.

A T2 ship will have 3x ensign and a single Lt. station whose type depends on the ship class. Therefore, you will have access to only one Lt. skill.

You need a ship that can provide console controls for the second bridge officer ability. Here is a stowiki page on the escort ship. You'll notice it provides room for 1 tactical Lt BOff. I couldn't find a better guide on the web, but one of the officers on earth dock will let you know all the traits of a given ship.

You can still use your officers ground abilities when promoted.

And this is probably obvious, but... if you have 1 Lieutenant-grade Tactical Station (for example), and 2 Tactical Officers whom you've promoted to Lieutenant, you can swap their assigned stations when you're not in combat, to change which Lieutenant-level skill is available.

Ok, I have the first free Cruiser you get as a Lt. Commander . Constitution Class. So where, in game, can I see how many Lt.. Stations I can have for each ship as I progress?

Upstairs in the Sol station Shipyard ( same place you turned in your plaque for your new 'free' ship). There are rotating ship models for all the tiers and if you approach them you can read the details on all the ships available.

The ranks of each station on your current ship can be seen on the Assignments tab of the Character Status window (press K or U to open it, then select Assignments at the top).

The number and rank of stations on every ship can be seen on Suricata's Ship Tier Charts.
