Hi,

I'm playing a tactical Klingon who I can't get to captain because I don't know where I should put my skillpoints --and hence I can't play him anymore. The issue:

My player abilities --like attack pattern alpha-- and some BOFF abilities --like attack pattern omega-- state that they are improved by Escort, and Heavy Escort captain skills. However, Klingons don't have those skills. Is this a bug? Are they supposed to be improved by BOP and/or Raptor skills? Or can they simply not be improved by Klingons?

I've opened a thread about a fix for this in general gameplay; at this point I just want an answer to my question above from a Dev so I can spend my skillpoints appropriately, even if the bug/issue is not fixed right away.

This is a known issue and is being worked on by the powers team.

Thank you very much for the response Dstahl! It is good to know that this is being looked at. Would you be able to tell us what skills will eventually boost these abilities? It would be great to know, so we can spec into these skills --even if they don't help right now-- because there is no re-spec in sight.

Kinda vague...

So, no Klingon skills boost those abilities, or some skills do but not the right ones, or is it just a tool tip correction that is required...?

Your answer would have been a lot more useful if it contained information regarding HOW its broken, and HOW you intend to fix it. I mean, its nice to know that six months or so from now this is going to get fixed, but in the mean time, a little information would be nice.

that is bad yes, but its bad for feds too. They're pretty much forcing tactical officers into escorts. Rediculous

At least Feds can, if they desire to, spend skill points on improving their class abilities. Klingons don't have that option. This is extremely broken. Imagine, if you will, when WoW first came out, if Paladins had abilities that only worked (or worked better) when you laid down totems.

I sure hope that BOP skill will boost them if you are in BOP and Raptor skills if you are in Raptor

No, there needs to be one skill that works in all ships. I want to use those skills in my cruiser as well.

I personally don't care anymore what solution is implemented; I just want a working skill tree. I still can't play STO; because I want to spend my commander points to increase these abilities since they're the ones I use the most; and I simply can't.

This issue should never had made it out of beta. A fix should be top priority.
