I really don't understand why high level ships are allowed to defend low-end sectors, making all the mobs in the zone jump to higher than normal levels.

Tonight I was "griefed" by a Defiant class starship that just flew around in the zone, but didn't do anything -- meanwhile all the mobs are +38 to me (in the Orion Sector). I left the zone and went to a different encounter only to be met a few minutes later by another high level who again made the mobs in the zone impossible.

So is this how the game was designed to be played? To just sit back and let higher level ships have all the fun because in the zone you're too low for the mobs that spawn (even though you're in the sector you are supposed to be in for your level)?

I think this needs fixing.

Guess what all the Admrials are doing? Especially when they subscribe to this theory.

Another reason why this game needs private instances.

If an admiral enters a low level defend mission he should automatically get his own private instance with upscaled enemies where he is alone or together with other admirals. Problem solved.

No they shouldn't, the levels should stay the same rather than jumping to +45, Admirals need to get low level drops for crafting, want to do fleet missions with friends, help new players, or just go nuts blowing up low level stuff. Pushing the level up to 45 is the problem, not the admirals being there.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention I had no idea I could grief people like that. Here I have been just talking smack to fanboys while I could have been ingame griefing rookies, awesome!

No, that's what happens when malignant little toads with low self esteem who can only feel potent by bullying other people but lack the intelligence or physical ability to do so in person get bored.

Uhm since when does a higher level player in a low level encounter raise the enemys level?
I never had that before.

You mabye have honorable intentions but you don't see the bad side which is too bad and will destruct anything: Commercial farmers and destructive people.
It has a reason why in most other MMOGs mobs are grey for high-levels and don't drop loot. For exact that reason, to prevent commercial farming and destructive gameplay.

Only fair solution is mentoring down (means you can set back your char to a lower level what includes that your gear is also mentored down). atm STO does not supporting mentoring, it will maybe come one day but allowing highlevels to use their full power in low level regions is a no-go!
