As a T5 Negh'Var General I can tell you when I lose a match it's not because the other team had fewer Escorts, its because we couldnt kill the escorts due to teamwork. Pugs tend to just blast away at everything and self-heal through the damage. Without Extend Shields, VM's , Tractors and Team buffs, life is reduced to waiting for RSP to drop and then die(or run).

When my premade runs( on the rare occasion we have all 5 online), What I fear isn't Heavy Crusiers or even well built sci ships(at least now that we all run guns), it's escorts with support backing them up.

This is really the truth. If one team supports each other well, then they are most likely going to win at every tier. It doesn't matter what level they are, only that they pour on the support to the targeted teammate.

I saved a few BOPs and others today in my k't'inga who were pretty hopelessly outmatched. I full impulsed in (salvage battles mind you, they can be chaos), tossed on extend shields and engineering team and that let them survive long enough for their own heals to come back up, and long enough for more reinforcements to arrive. Most of the time they survived the rest of the battle, sometimes from having <10% hull. And on the flip side I got my butt handed to me a few times because no one gave me any heals when I was focus fired, despite being in the big tough battle cruiser.

And naturally I have the same experiences on the Fed side. If everyone supports each other, you do better. If not, it doesn't matter because then its just 1 on 5, 5 times in a row.

I was in a fairly epic battle this morning that ended fed 15 klingons 12... with so much support on both sides it was daunting...There were several people on both sides 250k + damage and 200k+ heals too....

The difference? likely that the feds had more hull overall..and one or two more support abilities ....

It would have been even more fun had we had time to chat it up a little with some OOOO so close taunts...

Sometimes its just tough to keep up on the healing and the damage...
