A few times.... mostly because I bit off more than I could chew.

This may be a time where excessive honesty could be a little too much.

All I see is either people who are a lot better than me, don't fly escorts, or are too humiliated to admit the truth (or any combination of those three). I've died several times. Especially when coming across D'deridex (sp?) battleships and Mogai Escorts. God, I hate their maneuverability.

Yup. it sucks too.

Because as part of the story I was helping NPC Klingons destroy an 8472 battleship and a bunch of little ships. Well, after I took out all little ships and got the big ship down to 18% I died. Of course, like every other crappy encounter of this game and CO, if you die not only do the mobs go to full health, but every mob in the group your were fighting respawns as well.

So I was back to fighting 6 little ships and a battleship.. but what's this..? All my Klingon NPC helpers despawned and never came back, so I was faced with an impossible win. So I just logged off, like I do in the middle of the majority of my boring missions.

I did die in a PVE mission, I had been following one particular line of quests and ended up against a +3 Romulan Battleship; I now have a Hazard Emitters I, and I pay a lot more attention to shooting down Heavy Torps.

Repeatedly, last night. But I'm willing to bet that had something with being teamed with a friend who's almost a a tier ahead of me. One-shot to the shields and peeled open like a tin can. Did me up a treat, escort-style. He thought it was funny. Actually, since it didn't cost anything for repairs ... so did I.

Deep-space encounters, btw, not a mission.

Youch.
That would be painful for anyone.
One is easy... two's a challenge... three... you need an ace up your sleeve, for sure. And some nice science skills to boot.

i moved to escorts at commander >_>

thing is i played through a lot of the difficulty balancing in the beta's... there were times when a single -2 frigate could take you 10 min to chew through the shields, which'd be down just long enough to pop a single torp in before they'd bounce the shields back up to full strength... all while torps are hitting your shields like they hit hulls and fighters spammed them like they had no cooldown.. or when torp damage ignored your shields all together and you'd explode with full shields and no hull XD

i figure i picked up a trick or two along the way with all that, but right now they are a little too easy.. more abilities and maybe half a notch on the difficulty dial i'd say, which would give a challenge but not be impossible, or cause a single patrol mission to take a whole 3 hour playsession..

I died once, but then I got better. I've actually died a couple of times in pve missions where I've been auto teamed with somepeople who decided to leave mid mission and left me with more ships than I could deal with on my own.

I do not believe a word of that. Nor do I believe anyone else who makes this outlandish claim.

Yes, I have died a few times since before launch. If I had to guess I would say maybe 15 times or more.

I died a few times in OB, but since the AI gimp and launch, I've only died against the first D'deridex. I am in an escort as well. Ships don't last long enough against my "jam sensors" and cannon fire to do much against me most of the time.

We're talking missions here, though. I have died in fleet actions and DSEs a few times.
