# 1 unbalanced pvp

ok that's my feedback moment about pvp zones...or must i say..."Free suicide zones?"
Some of you maybe are laughing of it but that's the reality...the klingons are stronger after every new patch...and try to survive during a pvp session is for me simply an utopia.
as you understood i play as federation faction, my character is a joined trill engineer with an exploration cruiser and i have every known and existing buff for the hull resistance, but i resist in combat no more then 30 seconds (maybe too much, probably 15 seconds) and in this 15 seconds used all to spam every skill i have to try (without results) to resist to klingon attacks i must fire at everything i have around me without a sense cause i have no time to think, i must simply fire fire fire making so few damage cause i'm not the DPS in the game...it's rare that i can kill some klingon, i can do it only if i fire the final attack that make the enemy ship to explode...
must i list the skills i have? brace for impact 3, emergency power to shields 1, axuiliary to structural 1 feedback pulse 1, aceton field 3, engineering team 1 & 2, emergency power to weapons 3, yes i know it's not much but even if i had emergency power to shields 3 the situation would not change i'm sure of it...the cruisers actually in the game are not "tanking" they are simply something big as a cetaceus that makes hard to turn around and when explode makes a big boom...simply...maybe they are great in pve combat, but during pvp actually, cruisers sucks! at least federation ones...

Hi there, first thing to remember is that PVP currently is a group activity. Personal survival abilities are one thing, but no amount of resistance in the game will save you from focus fire without the aid of your allies.

I strongly recommend you read the stickied Basic Guide to Space PvP at the top of this forum.

Try those tips, play more PVP, then come back after a full tier or two and let us know if you still feel the same way.

Also please pay particular attention to the note on balance in the Preface.

Good hunting!

I agree, teamwork is the only way to go. Try being a BoP and getting hit with focus fire....sheilds and ship go boom real fast, even with all the buffs. Get a good group and PvP with them, learn how eachother work together and use heals and other buffs.
Once engaged find the halfway point between the respawns so each ship doesn't have to find the rest of the fedball and end up getting picked off on it's way there.

Sorry anyone focused fire will go down. That is just the way it is. The other side probably has skills to take down your shields, hold you etc.

As said above pvp is a team sport. When there is no cooperation it can get ugly.

It happens to Klinks just as much we just don't whine about it.

Most Klinks would argue that most of the patches were nerfs not buffs.

Teamwork man.. that and get more rsp and sci team, Emerg. Power to Shlds blows btw and is you dont have at least 3 ccs or 3 shld buffs/healz you wont last as sci or cruiser, sorry thats just how the game is.
Klingons dont get stronger every patch they actually get weaker, lol well not EVERY patch but they have been nerfed. If you want to get better ask those who beat you what they did and how they fight match to match they will be more than happy to advise you and releived to not be hearing hate spam and insults from there defeated pvp adversary and may even gain some respect for you WHILE you learn something.

This is a perfect example of what unsuccessful people do in PVP.

In PvP, you need to be in a group...preferably with a "pre-made" group of people you know and can talk to. You need to have a basic game plan and stay together. When selecting skills for your bridge officers, think about team support over individual survivability.

Science Team 1 > Jam Sensors
Engineering Team 1 > Emergency Power to Shields

Your allies keep you alive and you keep them alive...this is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than DPS.

Communicate! Focus fire!

If you are alone, DO NOT TAKE ON 5 ENEMIES ALONE

If your team dies, you need to regroup FIRST, this is your lifeline.

Kamikaze escorts do nothing but help the other side.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Last night I ran some Space PvP (there was a hold-heavy group making its rounds on Ground PvP, so I just avoided the frustration by switching to space ), and wound up with some really well organized teams that earned a 6-game win streak for the feds. Some of those games were close, but on 2 or 3 it wasn't even a contest, even though we waited for even numbers.

In short, organized teams make ALL the difference.

It's highly likely that you've paid no attention to the sheild, deflectors or consoles you're running , because the skills you describe , would allow you hang in a fight. That and you need to decide whether you're going for a DPS build or a tank build . Seems you're build is a compromise build which means you'll just die quicker than someone that commits to a tank build.

Ok, please learn how the game work before you spew your crap on the forums. First, Klinks dont get a decent science ship until T5 and even then their science ship is a turd bucket with no turning rate and the science officers requires 90 forward facing for a lot of their skills. Second, the Klingons tacitcal officer is broken and only gets about half the damage boosts that the fed counterpart gets. Third, Klinks get only one daily quest thus allowe Federation to out gear us in T5. And finally, your skills are crap, read the forum for what skills you need before making a general statement like that. L2P.
