Yeah, the press conference with Walter and his wife was heartbreaking...

I had assumed at first that he had killed himself but as time dragged on without finding a body I had begun to have some hope that he was alive.
I feel so bad for his family right now. The suicide of a friend or loved one it just about the worst thing that can happen.

Very sad news indeed. I heard earlier through the twitter grapevine once more. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this period of mourning.

Its confirmed now. Walter himself was with the search party of Andrew's friends that found him.

I encountered Walter Koenig at GenCon a few years back, he was there as a guest star and was walking the show floor with what I presumed to be a granddaughter or niece. He was a very nice, gentle old man, and even though everyone was geeking out when they saw him, the crowds parted respectfully for him and didn't disturb his private time.

Very sad news indeed; I'm sure that the Koenig family is in all Trek-fan's thoughts and prayers.
I met him at Fan Expo in Toronto Ontario just last year he is very friendly.....My condolences to Mr. Koenig and his family
