# 1 Is T2 PvP the best?

Consider:
  • Very few retardedly overpowered abilities such as VM, sub-nucleonic, RSP stacking, etc
  • You can find a space match almost instantly, no matter which side you're on
  • Feds have an advantage in ships, Klinks have an advantage in cloak; it is more balanced than other tiers
  • Fewer complete noobs than T1 (a decently fun tier in itself)
  • Fewer BOFF powers = less keyboard mashing, more pure combat

Really, the extra powers you get as you level only serve to detract from PvP, not enhance it. IMO, anyway.

1-2 healing ships = GG for the other side. (i guess thats the case with all tiers though)

Even this isn't as bad. You can do Sci team, Eng team, hazard emitters or extend shields... and that's about it. Healers are still important but not as off the hook as T5.

As far as fun and balance I believe T3 is the best.

I'm have to agree that Tier 2 has the best PvP, because it's the closest thing to Star Trek Space Battles we got.

Because later Tiers are nothing but the overuse of Science Abilities. So much I feel it killed the emersion that's not really Star Trek anymore, just a Star Trek skin.

This is an unpopular opinion, but I honestly believe that T2 is the best pvp because it is somewhat biased in favor of the feds, so the usual pug fed group is about on even ground against a group of bop's with cloak.

In T2 the KDF have no 'cruiser' class ship - so their gameplay is extremely limited so offensive actions and secondary support.

So in T2 you have a random group of feds in some ships that are really hard to take down with BOPs. A pug fedball is an interesting challenge at t2.

I really feel that to be 'fair', the feds need a handicap.
In t3, it's more balanced, so the typical kdf premade back-to-back pvp advantage returns.

If I had my way, the t1 kdf ship would have 2 foreward guns, 2 universal boff stations and start out with white t1 gear and no consoles. If someone can't hack it as kdf, then they can go back to hiding under momma's skirt.

funny story, last night before i went into t3 I was puttering around in t2 on my cruiser with a defensive line up (eng team x2, hazard emitters, extend shields). There was an escort on my team that kept complaining that no matter how hard he tried, he never lived long enough to score a kill cause everyone focused on him. Sure enough, all the klinks focused on him (he was the only escort). All i had to do was prop extend shields and keep healing him occasionaly; he didn't die the entire match and he topped the chart. near the end of the match one of the klinks accused him of having mkX shields because "your shields just won't drop, enjoy being banned".

long story short... healing, its underrated.

I'm starting to limp alts along now after reaching the lvl cap, and I've forgotten just how much more fun lower tier pvp actually is. It's getting to the point where I pretty much detest T5 pvp with all the gimmicky skills, and crazy heals. T2 pvp is about as pure and balanced as you can get in this game. At T3 it's not so bad, but heals become more of an issue, and the Sci ships begin to shine it seems. If I could I'd level lock at T2 and stay there forever, lol.

Man, it sounds funny but I enjoy leading complete newbies to win in t1. All I do is carry well-developed hazard emitters and engineering team, and I heal the dude getting focused - with the right development, stacking the two skills makes a miranda survive all but complete focus killing and a SINGLE healing ship can turn the tide.

I love telling the newbie feds what to do, forming teams and showing them where to set up to make it harder on the KDF to focus fire.

I'd have a t1 twink if I could- but they end up outlevelling t1 from just pvp exp
