***Resolved Issues***
"Login failed for unknown reason" error
Missing additional character slot for current/ lapsed Gold Members
I've been playing the game for a little over a week now and this IMO is the most annoying issue I have come across.
Scenario -
I'm in between missions. I plot a course to the next system on my list, walk away to grab a drink, and return to my ship getting ****-pounded because it got automatically dropped into a DSE on the way. I can't warp out until I either fight them all off or my ship blows up.
It will also happen while I'm sitting in front of the machine. I'm tooling along my merry way and BAM - I'm in some unseen DSE. And I seem to always get the added bonus of being dropped right in the middle of a whole damn squadron.
It's been said, but alt-tab before you leave the keyboard. When you come back, you'll be on a screen telling you to press any key to enter (and it'll say Deep space encounter..). You won't be in the encounter till you hit any key. Or click.
'Worse is that even if you are there, you have to negotiate a menu of options, which "continue exploring" is not what it sounds like. Then you have to confirm for a second time that you want to leave ASAP. I've been reduced to 20% hull in that time. Having a full squadron sitting at the warp in point is just rude and if you are going to put in a death penalty then that can't be allowed to remain.
Also since no one talks, being dumped into a battle situation with total utter strangers results in death quite often. To the point I hardly see the point of going into the encounter assuming I have that option and it didn't ambush me.
Make the options simple: "Join the engagement." and "Helm, get us out of here." Don't ask to confirm a clear choice. Just that single option because in a Tier 1 ship in the wrong place you may not live long enough to warp out anyway.
I wouldn't mind so much about it all, if there wasn't the flagship above me as i warp in, or that I have to wait 5 min for anything to happen that matters, and even then its 50/50 if i get and points for it once iv completed it.
In EQ2-for example, when I put myself on auto run through the zone, then when I got up and grabbed a drink or went to the washroom and a random group of mobs aggroed me. I GOT ****ED.
I posted a "WTF Sony! Why cant I auto run/AFK and get to my destination without dieing!?" thread right away.
I even submitted a ticket to customer support on why I couldn't AFK my way through the zone. But I guess Sony is like Cryptic at EPIC FAILS, cause I haven't received a response to it yet...
/shrug
(btw- you can warp back out to sector space even whilst dead.)
