Trying to update the launcher.
Please be patient.
Tried connecting 5 times.

Anyone having problems with this? Is there a fix?

Standard things to check
1. if using win7 or vista the launcher and gaemcleint exe is set to run as admin
2. there is not a firewall or antivirus program , windows defender or some parental control softeware blocking the program;s access to the net.
3. firewall / router/ or ISP is not blocking the ports or delaying the packets the game uses. (7000-7500)

do a tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com

and download and run nettest
Nettest:
Go to http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe
Download this file and run it
A command prompt should appear running the test automatically

Column 1 and 3 have values around 500 kb/sec (outgoing/incoming), column 2 has values around 20 kb/sec (transfer rate). If the values in these columns is less than what is expected you may have filtering or blocked ports either on your personal network or from your ISP.

4. make sure yur IE browser is not set to work offline and clear the IE cache (even if you use a different browser)

besure to include you connection set up,

ie wireless direct connect modem/routers models number and versions, nic used and type of isp you use

There is some other problem other than a network issue or administrative permission issue. I ran this and it worked fine for me. I'd recommend other people with this problem do the same.

seems basic, but it worked for me. try resetting your modem, ie. unplug it for 45sec or more and plugging it back in.

how can so many people have this problem all of a sudden, i have spent the last 3 hours and still cant get the launcher to boot.

I Need your help. I have the same problems. Can`t start the game.
Same Error. no contact to the server. internet is function fine.
