dont listen to all the hate. They are only opinions but what really counts is YOURS. Try the game if you like it then keep playing welcome aboard, if you dont like it, then leave thats all you can do. Alot of content is on the way just give it time, nothing really else to say. Yes its fun for some not so fun for others it just depends how you look at it.
The 30 days included with the retail purchase are expiring this week. So, some feel as if they need to get their 'parting shots' in, if you will, before their account is dropped.
Think of it like how you see some 10 year old's act when they don't get their way. Instead of accepting it, and moving on, they have to ensure everyone else around them is just as miserable as they are.
They are just trying to get their snarky views in before their 30-Days are up in hopes of either "helping" make a better game that they can then attempt to return to at a later date, or they are simply just being that way to be trolls.
Hate posters are an issue with all MMOs. Play the game, decide if you like it, then keep playing it if you do. Remember, many (perhaps most) of the hate posters do not even play the game or have active subscriptions. Their goal is not honest discourse. Their goal is text jousting.
Think of it this way. If you hate golf, do you go to a golf pro shop and yell loudly that golf sucks because there is not enough missions at the course, and then pee on the floor and refuse to talk to the people who respond to you? Of course not. If you hate golf, you simply avoid the golf pro shop.
if you don't mind a far from complete, unbalanced, empty shell of a game, this is it for you. This game is still at least a year before it should have been out of beta.
Just like every other MMO in the first month of retail. All the limited beta testing in world cant compare with hundreds of thousands of players in the full game finding new issues and problems. I think the STO has done bloody well in such a relatively short space of time and there is infinite room for Cryptic to expand the game.
To the OP I would say that this forum is not yet well managed by mods, part of which is the volume of active users and the minimal means for posts and postees to be reported to a mod for their review.
That said this is the internets and so its inevitable that there will be scum and villainy abound, just try to ignore them and their troll allies as best you can is my advice (which I appreciate can be easier said than done)
OP, there are a lot of neutral reviews running around the web. Google some, and read for yourself. But honestly you will not get many unbiased opinions here either way, lots of haters and fanboys running around in here.
