First of all, fun instance. Honestly. I loves me some borg, and the more borg the better.
The need for tactics was a godsend, but they weren't self-evident for the pug I joined at first. We learned quickly, though.
What we finally settled on was similar to the time-tested fed pvp tactics. Everybody run off separately, die repeatedly, then complain that nobody's sticking together. Then one guy was outta there, because this sucks. His opinion, not mine. Nobody but me noticed that he dropped group. We died a few more times. Then someone went link dead. Finally, long story short, I was standing there alone in the instance. It was member of group, member of smaller group, member of smaller group, BAM group leader. How often do you get promoted that quick while raiding? I was pretty proud.
I ended up soloing it using a ****load of mines. Seriously, mines. Lots of them. Borg hate mines more than the crystalline entity does. If you think you're using enough, use more. A 20:1 mine-borg ratio is a good start.
The uploads were tricky solo, but mines fixed that too. There's nothing they can't do, really.
