Well, you can use the battery only once per 5 mins...best tactic is to run, works almost always.

Okay. Protip, if you run on power setting 3 and see your Shd energy plummet below 0 and lose shields. You have options:

1) Shield battery
2) Emergency Power to Shields (repairs them)
3) Allocating 100 power to shields, as soon as the power level overcomes the drain shields will immediately come back online.
4) Engineer Team.
5) Wait for Subsystem repair to do its thing.

I'm incredibly happy that subsystem warfare is finally starting to catch on, even after posting a basic guide on it more than a month ago.

This sounds like if you absolutely not care about self protection but only maximizing your dps.
There are engineer BO skills to heal shields/hull and there is also an science BO skill to heal shields, both available even for escorts/BoPs. Sorry but if you ignore such possibilities you deserve it to must run away!

I prefer sci-vessels but for fast leveling I fly my second char in an escort (I will respec to another ship type later). For better survivability I have 3 hull healing skills and 3 shield healing skills. You could do the same or is this unacceptable for you because it reduces your dps?

btw: disabling shields is not only possible by targeting subsystems skills but also by using phasers because they have a 2.5 % chance to disable subsystems, so there is no "new trick".

Your guide was slightly incorrect. It says the subsystem skills also work off turrets, which they do not.

With the power/dps nerf coming in the big update soon I think these skills will be a lot more used and whined about

Was kinda surprised to see all the flamage my post attracted. But, i guess this is the way of life on the internet. Anyways thank you who who did take my OP and offered advice. Guess asking questions make one a ******. who knew..besides i got the information i wanted, and hopefully i helped a few others. Now we who did not understand this. will fight better. to those who used it:sorry if I ruined your Trick.

to the player, who claimed to kill me. yes, i am the same. i was intentionally engaging you because i was trying to figure out what was going on. and after a match or two, i even sent you a friendly tell requesting information how you could do this. though your rebuttal was very cold bye any standards. glad you love to kill player like me , who is willing to study a situation and correct it. don't you wish we was All this dumb? / puzzled.

id not get to play yesterday . wanted to test tactical team see if it worked. But as other said, engineer teams work too? so, ill need to wait till somebody uses this on me to find out which one works better, or works at all. i will report here once i do learn.

I do like the max out shield power advice, Thank you. with Eps running you should have shield back before your hull is at zero. unless you got 3 players assisting after shield drain. then you might be dead before you can grab your mouse anyways.

offtopic :now those who talked about :"why not lower your dps for defense": defense is the role of science ships and cruisers. dps is the role of escorts. as all have some defense, escorts do need to focus on dps as their primary trait. this is what they do. to run a escort with max shields, makes me ask. why not just run a cruiser then? we need to go in, and kill and get out of dodge. i rather run max engine before i waist power on shields.

again as i said this i do not run a escort, but a healer/ science ship. i tend to max out aux before others, and will rarely find a reason to max shields. if im gonna die. i rather Zoom away, then to hang back as 5 players poke holes in me. i can always come back and return to my healer role. 6 seconds after . besides some vulture personalities will keep chasing me. making a lose for there team.

I thought that Science Team will remove a debuff like power drain... please correct me if I am mistaken.
