I was in the giving and receiving end of something like this last night. With a disruptor DHC using rapid fire II and buffed by some tactical guy I did like 30K damage to a science ship blowing it away just as the shield came down. No idea how it happened, I didn't fire my torps or anything, just BOOM he was gone as I was making my attack run in BoP. All I know is the guy was being attacked by another ship who was throwing debuffs against his science ship.
Later in the same match I took slightly over a 60K hull shot to a Tet DHC from an escort. Again, no idea what happened, other than I thought 'wow that hurt' as I blew up.
I'm not sure if this is bug stuff or just some random combination of buffs/debuffs. In massive salvage fights, it is hard to keep track how some of this happens when your fighting with and against a good team group supporting one another - particularly when the matches are close.
Maybe it's like the OP says, I am simply an exploiter and don't know it...
There is a bug with Crazy high crits - its being worked on Tribble(Test) shard. Also, Lag (update frequency) can amplify the appearance of things (essentially a hiccup in net connectivity could cause 4 updates to hit at once - possibly - depends on how the net updates are handled).
so yea I guess the klingons found some new exploit?
stuff like this almost ruins the game for me, what is the point if your enemy has no chance?
It's fake, how much hulls do Cruisers have? Think about it, look at the log damage and see how much it would take for a Cruiser to die.
Tier 5 cruisers has a base hull of 39k, according to STO wiki. Want to tell me why a ship, even with all bonuses included can absorb 400k of damage? And resist has nothing to do with it, this damage is after all resists considered.
Here's what I don't get. The screenshot in the OP shows him taking three hits (from three different weapons: Tetryon Dual Cannons, Disruptor Dual Heavy Cannons, and a Dual Beam Bank) over 100k. How did you survive even the first one, let alone the other two?
Incidentally, my guess as to the cause is stacking percentage based buffs and debuffs. If Attack Pattern: Beta from multiple ships stacks on the same target, along with things like the Disruptor debuff, I can imagine some pretty silly numbers without much trouble.
It's the fact that you called it a "Klingon Exploit". KDF players are sick of this attitude and the screaming of "nerf klink" without anyone making an objective and impartial claim to a what may be either a bug or a very extreme coincidence.
both myself and a fellow teammate both klingon experienced this from the federation ships.
thankfully it's not everytime.
Best bet is do what we do and /bug
