The very clear reason for the death of the faction is Cryptic's decision to make the Klingon faction almost entirely PvP oriented (i.e. forcing people to do it. Yes they did force people because the only other option was mindless grinding), and them not offering much of anything else for players of the faction to do. They listened to idiots that told them that Klingons should be all about the PvP, and have too many idiots on the payroll that believe the same thing.

The only way the faction was ever going to be viable was if it would have been fully fleshed out, with all the variety and amounts of content the Fed side had.

Cryptic was told this over and over and over by the majority of the people planning on playing Klingon and following the game's development, but chose to ignore it, and instead listened to sycophants that didn't have a clue about Star Trek fans or mmos. They're still choosing to ignore it, and only offering the faction PvE content where it can be twinned with Fed content. They still refuse to offer players a Klingon experience, and still think that PvP has something to do with wanting to play Klingon.

In other words, they had (and still have) very very little understanding of mmo players and Star Trek Klingon fans.
This is what I think is happening also , I dont understand it cuz I love Pvp , but I belive this is whats happening for most players.

Hagon is correct , the Klingon side is completely lacking in entertainment value, from an MMO standpoint . I can get just as much entertainment from playing ( prehaps more ) BF:BC 2 then STO . The total absence of a Klingon story line and this includes 2409 end of it . Makes Klingon gameplay dull.

I've been slowly leveling in the emp-.. Lets kill X fed NPC's missions as its the ONLY thing i can get to level up. In the end i believe my Fleet will die out soon enough. We are RP mainly but.. I'm cap on Fed with no one to do high level content and Klingon side i've gotten really bored of just doing the same mission over and over and over again because there is no PvP or enough people in fleet actions around lt/ltcmdr level.

Devs should of listened to us in closed beta and all this could have been avoided - heck Devs should of listened when the boards were a flame even before beta began because many people had a bad feeling regarding Klingon play.

Well Admittedly I started a Fed char as my friends have too. But my favourite aspect of this game, by far and away is PvP. My Fed just reached admiral today and I have enjoyed very short queues from tier 2 through 4. But as soon as I got to 5 its a 20min waiting game and then somehow its stupid lopsided teams either full of Klingon or full of feds?

The Queue system needs to be addressed and there needs to be some serious tweeking of the Klingon levelling experience to attract people. I have rolled a Klingon anyway because they would have been my prefered choice.

If anyone is willing to take me into a fleet/ PvP group Klingon side please let me know. My Klingon is called Skraal. Its such a shame that people are being put off by playing Klingon but its totally understandable why, there is <10% of the content as there is for Fed side it seems.

But stick it out boys and girls, I'm certain there will be plenty of stuff on the way to get our Bat'leths stuck into!

They will, man, they will.

I've been playing with my Fed character alot lately (Capt2 now) and put my BG5 Klingon on the backburner. I've done PvE but alot of PvP due to my old KDF blood. I can't tell you how much I hear Feds complain about KDF ships, i.e. Cloaks. Every now and then a few complain about cannons and BoPs, but the Cloaks they truly hate.

The Feds will flock to FvF because their opponents will be exactly like them, and most especially, no cloaks.

Mark my words, few will be doing FvK when the FvF changes go live.

The main problem is and stands that when you reach BG5 as Klingon all you can do is PvP, the same old PvP you had to do mindlessly the last couple of weeks/days, thousands of matches long.
I can't blame anyone who thinks "Guess what, maybe I try 98% of the other content STO has out too." Especially because it doesn't provide you anything valuable, except for 3 matches a day (every 3rd day only warzone, so like 2 matches a day in average). And most of the people don't even care for honor marks anymore. They got their piece of equip they needed and what now?

Most of the Klingon fleets have scattered. People went to other games or to the FED side. The community breaks down and there is even less urge to play.

And last but definitely not least, that's what has driven me out of my BoP:
The QQ and cheat/hack abusing, insulting and whatever from the FED side when you rolled them over with thousands of games experience, top notch gear and effective combos is insane. In the end there was like 1 game out of 5 where I didn't had to read stupid nonsense from the FEDs. Why care providing them someone to play? Shall they rot in their queues, if they kill my fun by behaving like 3 year olds I have no reason to play longer than the 2 average games per day.

For the FvF-part. I think there will be FEDs in FvK queues, but as soon as the game pops I guess Klingon team is full, 1 FED stumbles in (rest sits in already popped FvF games or PvE), gets ganked, warps out, after 5mins another FED comes in, rinse and repeat. A ****ing boring PvP experience with much QQ (unbalanced sides), which drives FEDs even more into their own arms.
(balancing a FvF is way easier than FvK, because you can put the same kind of players on either side. It will also pop quite fast because you don't have to wait for another faction which might be under-represented)
