Since the "grayed out"logos for Romulans and Cardassians are on the website under "Factions"..I thnk Romulans are a good bet for the next faction, followed by the Cards. I look forward to a four faction game, I think there's some real posisbility there.


***EDIT**** Romulans and Cardassians are no longer greyed out...full faction text and screenshots are now available for both. I think the mystery is solved:

I agree with you on this one. I really want to see a Cardassian faction. They and the Klingons have been my favorite alien races. I don't know if it would work, but it would be pretty sweet if they had a split faction for either the Cardassians or Romulans (maybe both).

The True Way faction would have Dominion species in it, where as the Council faction has traditional Cardassian species in it. The True way would be aligned with the a future Romulan faction, and the Council with the federation. Just a thought...

Or put that same twist on the Romulans were two factions are released at the same time that are opposed to each other fighting for power within the Empire. One could be aligned with the Federation, the other faction aligned with the Klingon Empire (the house of Duras has great power now in the Empire, and would fit with Cannon). I wouldn't want it to be the Horde Vs. Allience of WoW though...

I have always thought Civil war would be a great addition to an MMO.

Third faction is a silly idea and I don't think it's coming, well if it did they'd probably have like 1 species(excluding customs) and even less to do than klingons.

Thrid faction? Like there's already a second faction?

My preference is obvious; however, adding the Rihannsu a close second.

The Borg? Seriously? did Cryptic not see the Voyager borg killed voyager? and how can one really justify a Borg DRONE, part of the HIVE mind COLLECTIVE as playable??

even if done as part of 'Monster-play' stop and look at the current state of Klingon 'monster play' and ask how well that's working for ya...

jeeze add the Ferengi before the Borg, least they're know as looking out for their own goals first.

It doesn't have that under the Cardassian one.

Well if they have to bring a new faction online it should be the romulans or the Cardys. This leads more to open pvp zones that could have some meaning. I don't mind dying for the empire but it would be nice if it meant something so we could sing some songs about it .

I hope they do not make Borg a playable race unless it is much later in the arch of this game and only for monster play. I am not convinced even by our fellow posters eloquent arguments that this could work as a playable. I would love to see ferengi or any merchant class that is not part of a military style fleet. This would include pirates and or syndicate members. It would be a blast to go out looking to earn lots of gold pressed latinum.
