Makes me wonder why all the attributions to Star Wars references in Star Trek. It is nothing more than rumors.

Which is why the Millennium Falcon was in First Contact.
And the Enterprise D is in Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace. ILM have been doing easter eggs like this for years.

no, not rumors. abrams and, by his own admission, never watched Star Trek, cui he's a star wars fanboi and again by his own admission, and therefore knows nothing about ST. hence Delta Vega being ice planet hoth, among numerous other errors

Let's blame it all on Q.

When you can't figure something out...just say Q did it.

You'd be right the majority of the time anyway.

R2D2 on the "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" Mothership. Pic was taken of the original model, now on display at the National Air & Space Museum Annex at Dulles Airport. The only time you see this in the movie is when the motheship is moving over Richard Dreyfuss near the end of the movie, but then it's only a darkend shape, and you have to know what you are looking for

In this photo, the Starship ENterprise is a member of the ragtag fugitive fleet in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica

And I know the Ragtag fugitive fleet has made an appearance on Enterprise, but just can't find any pics of that.

Since we're also talking about other series' easter eggs, the pilot for Battlestar Galactica has Serenity (from Firefly) landing as whatshernuts is being told she has cancer.
