Many times, as a Bajoran engineer, I have activated my Support Drone power. If I am targeting an enemy at the time, I target an ally when I activate it. I have it bound to alt+5; no other alt power does this. I submitted a ticket, # 747,580.

How is that relevant to the OP?
I have had my support drone get stuck or inexplicably fly off on occasion but I do not *think* it has a targeted friendlies, but I will watch more carefully now to see if that happens.

It's not a bug, the ability is placed on a person, not an enemy. The drone then follows that person (or npc away team member) and fires on their target. So when you activate it targeting an enemy, it switches to the targets target to place the ability on a friendly character.

Hm. That is not clear at all. I think the whole thing with powers that you want to activate for yourself, going to your enemy's target (like science or engineering team in space) is a bit odd/not really good at all.
