# 1 Looking for Fleet Info
03-17-2010, 12:23 PM
I am a 49/male who has been a Star Trek fan since tos in the 60's. I have limited playing time in SFC3, Elite Force, Armada 1, Bridge Commander and even Legacy. I have played STO since open beta and currently Captain 3. My ingame character is "Gene Hardin" (real name). I am having a ball playing and learning. I am seeking to join a fleet that I can further learn space and ground combat strategies, as well as, forge new online friendships.

Thanks,

Gene Hardin

As a representative of the Canadian Federation it is my honour to extend an invitation to you Gene.

Our members are mature and practical in their conduct. We were formed by casual players whom like to have all the benefits of a fleet without any of the hassles of a rigid command structure. While we may be casual we are very dedicated. Above all else our fleet is about getting together and having fun with our members. The majority of our members are Canadian and American, but don't let that hold you back, we are open to everyone. We have a dedicated Ventrilo server for Fleet communication.

We currently have over 100 helpful, active members and are growing every day. We are currently active across all NA time zones.

So if you like what you hear, please come and check out our site. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or any of our other fleet members.

Thank you for your consideration,

The Canadian Federation

Greetings Gene Hardin from the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet

We are the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet, made up of Vulcanís and other races who value logic and analysis, who are medium RP and very organized around our central concept: To enhance and enrich the STO experience for our members. We help each other with info and game items (shared in our Fleet Bank), we don't require our members to do much more than share info and Intel, and we respect RL - always. We have members on odd schedules and our membership is worldwide - there will always be at least one VKF member around to team with perhaps more as our numbers are increases every day. Away missions are real fun with a group of players coordinating on Vent (faster than the chat box), and space battles are...epic!

Thereís a lot more to the fleet than a post can explain please visit us at vulcankolinahrfleet.com alternatively send an in game message to @rawtalent or @VKFTKota and see if the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet is what you have been looking for.

Hi Gene,

The Sentinels are a multi-gaming community with an average age of 30+ and no drama!

We have an active membership in several different MMO's and are building our Starfleet Division here in STO. At this point we have about 50 to 60 active members in our fleet and are steadily growing. The overall guild has over 500 active members and we also maintain our own guild Ventrilo server (although you don't have to use it, we do have some good discussions and lively chat on there). We look for quality over quantity, and have a very thorough application process. Its our goal to make sure you are as happy with us as we will be with you.

Our retention rate is very high as we promote more of a gaming community then a single game guild.

Feel free to check out our recruitment thread at http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=94701 or just follow the links in my signature to learn more about us.

STARFLEET DEFENDERS

STARFLEET DEFENDERS is a mature, casual fleet for adult STO players. We are a fun fleet who is more concerned about playing together and enjoying each others company than getting to the highest level. No matter what we do, we will enjoy doing it together. I believe that each member is unique and has something to add to the overall personality of the fleet.

Whether you will be a casual gamer who only plays twice a week or an avid gamer who never logs off doesn't matter to us. STARFLEET DEFENDERS is looking for members with personality!!

100+ plus members canít be wrong!!

Bottom line is when it comes down to it you get an established fleet that has been around since early beta with a mature membership base from all around the world so no matter what time you log in to play there is usually someone online. We have our own website, forums and vent server.

Be a part of a fleet that's going to make STO history, not be STO history in a few months!!

Project Navras may very well be the fleet you're looking for. We're a fleet nearing 50 ships, at the moment, devoting ourselves to enjoying every aspect that Star Trek Online has to offer, whether it's RP, PVP, or simply good, old fashioned PVE, with raids and fleet actions. We have our own forums, voice comms, and weekly schedule of events-- with member access to the Fleet Bank, and regularly-held contests for our members.

We have a complete award/medals system on our forums, thus allowing our members to earn commendations and decorations from their actions within the fleet. We also have divisions, allowing you to devote yourself to certain duties/responsibilities within the fleet that will help you in progressing through our ranking system.

If you're interested, then it all starts by checking out our fleet recruitment thread. The link is located in my signature-- and after that, check out our website and forums at www.ProjectNavras.com -- you might even decide to fill out an application.

I have good news and bad news for you, Gene.

Let's get the bad news out of the way first. I'm guessing by now you've noticed most of the responses are canned cut and paste replies which may or may not have anything to do with what you're looking for in a fleet. This is because many fleets are all about numbers. That, my friend is sad because you never know what you're getting into or if the fleet will truly fit what you need.

Now for the good news. Not all fleets are like that. STO has some pretty danged good fleets out there. In my opinion, a good fleet never recruits every person looking for a fleet. You end up with some scary members that way. A good fleet also tries to find members who will be a good fit for both.

I'm kinda betting you thought I was going to say there was only one fleet which met these requirments, huh? Nope. Gene, Fleet 187 is not the only only good fleet in Star Trek Online. It IS, however, one of them. Let me explain why.

1. We are a mature fleet, meaning we are geared toward adult players. But we do not stop there. Being an adult doesn't always guarantee maturity. If a member shows a less than mature attitude toward the game or the fleet, they are escorted to the door by a squad of Klingon and Gorn warriors. When we say mature, we're not talking about age!

2. We have a website, a forum and use vent. You didn't mention if you were using vent to talk to players live, so I will assume you do not to this point. If you do, please skip to the next one. Vent is a program you install on your computer which allows you to talk live to members of your group (fleet in this case). It's great for making new friends, getting questions answered, working together on episodes and having the occasional debate over a myriad of STO related subjects. I highly recommend you utilize vent.

3. We like new players. Heck, we like seasoned players too. The 1-8-7 is looking for people who will be active, productive players. I'l lbe honest with you, Gene. We kick out members who become idle for too long of a period without letting us know. We don't do numbers. We do members! Does this mean daily? No. Regularly? Yes.

4. Most of us are here because we like Star Trek and have for a long time. I have been a fan since TOS. Some came to be fans later for logistic reasons- they weren't born in time for TOS! Hahaha! We have a good core of dedicated players, several who are lifetime members (including myself). We're not fanboys and we're not flamers, and we aren't psychotic about everything being micro-canon accurate.

OK, I could keep going but I think you just started snoring there, Gene. The best way to get to know is is simple. Visit the site at fleet187.com... and visit the forums while you're there. If you want, check out the ventrillo information at the bottom of the forums. You can also look for me in-game. My name is Stormy@StormyMaverick. If I do not reply, it's because I occasionally get tunnel vision and do not read the chat box. Try a couple of times! I like meeting new people. Hope to see you around.
