Get some new glasses then. We pay to access the main server to play there. No one is forced to log into the Tribble server and play there. And no one playing there is forced in any way to write bug reports.

But if you have any specific proof of your observations that people pay specifically to test on Tribble, then by all means, lets see it.

And you seem the like the kind of guy who likes to make generalizations based off of nothing. A lot of people are upset that the 45 day patch is not here and have to pay another cycle in the subscription. Did you ever stop to think of that?

Straw is susceptible to fire. Build your next man out of bricks.

If a restaurant offers free refills, you are paying for them in the sense that they won't refill your cup if you didn't actually eat there. But they're still a value added service that you're under no obligation to drink.

The flaw in your logic is that you cannot access the Trible server without an active account, therefore you are paying them to beta test their game. Perhaps if they offered access to the test shard to unsubbed closed or even open beta testers, this would be different. I mean it's great when people like to dedicate their game time to help highly paid developers and testers do their job.

no.. you just copy your live folder over then patch it, making it a 2 gig download.

EDIT: Those complaining about the tribble server.. I mean come on.. really?

a) nobody is forcing you -- if you don't like it, don't use it
b) don't call the players trying to make your gaming experience better 'fanbois' like it is some kind of insult. Grow up.
c) Almost every major MMO under the sun jas a test server. This is not exactly a 'new concept'.

While the service may be value added, you still paid for said service. Keep it coming [edit]

Here's some cheese with that. So it got pushed back, big deal. Never expect any patch to actually come out on a tentative date.

Two years ago, Apple released a patch to Mac OS X that caused some of their computers to turn into attractive aluminum doorstops. Insufficient testing of the patch.
Four years ago, Microsoft released a patch to Windows XP that prevented the operating system from, you know, operating. Insufficient testing of the patch.
Just this month, Microsoft released a patch to Office for Mac which for a nontrivial number of users, reversed the arrow direction keys and swapped PageUp for PageDown when using Word. Not Working As Intended. Also, insufficient testing of the patch.

If the patch was released and was unplayable, people would complain a LOT more. Yes, it being delayed is a bummer... but put this into perspective. We want a patch that works more than a patch that is on time. I think, deep down, even the people complaining about it being delayed want that, too. So, qa'chill, and enjoy the game both before and after the patch comes out. As someone else said, if you are pinning all your hopes for this game on a single patch... you may want to come back in a year and see if the game better meets your standards, because one patch is not going to be a watershed moment for any game.

STO is not running your life support machine. This patch is not going to pay back the Mafia what you owe them before big men with bats take it out of your kneecaps. You do not need this patch to cure the ebola that is going to liquefy your brain in mere hours. Obtain perspective on the situation.
