I wonder if Cryptic will write a homeworld invasion story? I hope it starts like this. We Federation players wherever we are and what ever level were at receive a general hail from Starfleet Command that Earth is under attack and all ships are to proceed to sector 001 post haste. Hopefully there will be many fronts from the Earth itself to the main spacedock ,the moon and Mars(Utopia Plantia spaceyards) and the rest of the solar system. In addtion payback can be hell the attacking race's homeworld can also be attacked.

This is an interesting idea. I think it could make for a cool fleet action type episode. They could make it a weekly/bi-weekly event that happens at the same time each go around.

That would have 2/3rds of the world screaming because they were at work or asleep. Any events like this would have to be run at at least 3 different times over a weekend.

What about once a week, every time on a different time ? After three weeks, repeat.

it would be better done over a neutral planet, space battle first then ground battle. Overall winner gets that planet added to their faction with some sort of reward for holding it. If it was limited to earth then or other home planets then you could never have the enemy holding it.

How about, once a month or every few months, a Borg Cube just warps into the Sol System and the ships on hand have to deal with it? A hundred skill points and some loot to everybody there and if you miss it, too bad.

Like what happened at the end of Open Beta, but a rare and random occurrence.

I know some people might not like it, because they only want combat to be on their terms, but they need a reminder that it doesn't always work that way. Red Alert, Earth is under attack now. Go fight, or warp away and get no points.

Then you personally would only be able to play once every 3 or 4 months as it would have to be held at different times to keep all players happy.
