Is it.....fun? Getting screwed by FC in anarchy online (I was a nanotechnician) kinda turned me off the "move the person around" games.

If I didn't love star trek so much I wouldn't be playing this MMO, either.

Don't worry. Most attacks will root you in place. So it's not like in AO where you try to cast a program and oops you moved... Try again!
And its a decent game. No more but not less. (well... if you are a super hero fan it will be more)

And do remember to turn of the black comic line thingies...

The most enjoyment I got out of CO was the Character Creator, don't get me wrong I had fun playing the game but after a while it was the creator that I just kept playing with.
Much fun an major customisation options letting you recreate almost perfectly any of your childhood heroes / villains.

oh and as for AO .. two words

It's almost like a comic book. Same general feel, corny humor, and art style.

It uses the same engine as STO so getting used to the controls is a cinch.

If you think STO has a good character generator, then Champions will blow you away. The best part is easily the character creator, but that doesn't mean the rest of the game is bad. It's just the creator is that good.

It has everything from street thugs, to the mafia, biker gangs, killer robots, evil mutants, Will Farrell, zombies, ghost pirates, demons, a group that definitely not COBRA from GI JOE, giant apes, Bigfoot, aliens, psychics, Canadians, Atlantis, dinosaurs, robot dinosaurs, evil corporations, dream sequences, and anything else you can find in a comic book.

I played City of Heroes for 20 months. Most of the Brown Coats Fleet is my old SG from CoH. Both are super hero games with amazing character creators which were designed by Cryptic Studios. Why two of them? Who knows. If it's a free trial, I'll probably taste it.
