A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
I am sure this has been discussed before but I have not read a thread on it and thought I would start one to hammer the point to Cryptic.
ST lore supports the fact that the Helmsman plays an important part in the make up of the bridge crew. An exceptional helmsman gives a ship more manuverability as had been shown in series with Sulu and Paris.
In the mechanics of the game a well trained helm officer would increase the manuverability, speed and evasive actions of the ship as he skilled up.
I was actually a little curious as to why there wasn't a Pilot or Helmsman class in the game. I like the idea of it; though would you want a new player class as well?
Surely that'd take quite a bit of balancing.. bit still a nice thought for the future?
Its indeed a nice idea, also as player class. Could focus on flight patterns in general (unlike 'evasive' captain ability, and tac BO attack patterns) and have fighters/shuttles/runabouts to summon.
In terms of Conn officer (the official designation... since it combines Helm and Navigation from TOS), they could have one. I just don't see it having anything more to do than to separate Battle Maneuvers from the current Tactical officers. Canon wise, any qualified officer can man the Conn station... Jadzia Dax often did on the Defiant, and she was a Science officer. Chief O'Brien did on the Enterprise, as an Operations Officer (back when he was showing the rank of Lieutenant). Again on the Enterprise, Ensign Ro played on the Conn as a Command officer. And Lt Paris was obviously assigned the duty of Flight Operations on Voyager, specifically, as a Command officer.
So yeah, you can have a bunch of different officers from a bunch of different areas of ship operations, serving as Conn officers.
I've suggested this before:
They grant skills such as high warp turn (on the spot 180 turn, but can stop engines), Evasive Patterns (offering actual weapon avoidance/dodge), And Deploy Shuttles, where you launch shuttles to harass an enemy or draw fire. Not sure what they would bring to the table on the ground, some generic buffs maybe. Call down an air strike perhaps (Like Orbital bombardment w/o the suck)?
I think this is a great idea, but what about a 1st officer? Every captain has one yet there is no aka (number 1) which I think could add extra skills such as different attack patterns or would give you a higher percentage of able bodied crewmen in battle or even a better secuity team.
Also this may be pushing it, but what about a Doctor, we get scinence officers but no medical. You could add them to away missions and they'ed have better ways of keepiing the team alive. I don't know about anyone else but It's anoying when my guy goes down and I call for help, and my away team never comes.
And just a side note. It would be awsome if we could get andriods or hologram crewmen that come with higher stats like HP.

Can we please add the extra BO to the game?
ita on the to-do list.
they will add a first officer at some point once they have figured out how it should be played.
