Now that the servers are up i was eager to start playing, but... (there always is a "but" comming) :
I downloaded the pre-patch days/a week ago but now i need to download it all over again at a WHOOPING rate of +/- 90 kB/s (have a 50mb/s connection, all working fine).

They posted somewhere that the launcher is deleting the pre-patch files by mistake, and we have to re-download the whole thing.
It's an error, they're sorry, and it should work better next time.
First thing I'll be doing when I get home is starting the download, THEN go change my clothes, feed the cat, have a snack, watch some TV, and wait for it to finish.

I'm not subscribing to the hateful attitude about this.
The pre-patch took about an hour, so I figure an hour or so, most likely.
If I'm undeservedly lucky, they'll have found and fixed the problem, so that it won't delete the files by the time I go to do it. But I'm not even hoping that will happen, much less actually expecting it.
Stuff happens. Especially with complex systems. You either roll with it, or get rolled over.
(And I have the entire extended collection LotR disc set. It's wonderful.)
Watched it 3x and i did read the books 2x, enjoyed every minute spend on it.
Jackson had to change/drop a lot, but there's nothing I have any problem with. And I can't count how many times I've read the books. Absolutely /signed.
Edit:
WOOT! According to the FAQ, they DID fix it, so it should be just fine now.
There are definite advantages to being at work and unable to get in until this afternoon (PDT).
