personally call it soda. But pop is just as common as soda it seems in this area. I have a friend who lives in VA, and he calls all soda, Coke. He'll say things like... "what kind of coke do you want?" reply: "dr.pepper" lol

I call it by name now (Pepsi, Dew, Budweiser, Caucasian). I used to call it 'pop' till my friends dad started punching me in the shoulder saying: there's your pop.

Or Limo (short for Limonade == lemonade) for any other soft drink.

Haha, I remember that punching thing from my time in the military. German Fleck camouflage has a tendency to form paprikas...which of course didn't take long to turn into targets for well-aimed good-natured punches.

Most people around here call every carbonated beverage Coke, so I just have to be different.

It seems like it's really a regional thing. Down south, everything is a Coke. In the midwest it's pop. In New England, I think it's soda. I'm not sure about out west though. I've never been there before to notice.
