What is everybody's favourite moment in Star Trek. It can be anything, a scene, a starship battle, line of dialogue, joke, anything you like and the reason why. It can even be from a book or game if you like or something outside like a convention or meeting one of the actors.
Mine is probably the very last scene of the Best of Both Worlds part 1. I was still very young when I first saw that but it blew me away. I was not used to big cliff-hanger episodes or four or five month waits between them and for the first time you really felt like they were in deep trouble. It was powerful stuff and rarely have I seen anything in any other TV show that matched that level of awesome and took Star Trek and TV to an entirely new level. Even today that stands as the best ending I can remember to an episode.
So what is you favourite moment of all time, the one that sticks in you head above all others?
In the original series ... Spectre of the Gun. Kirk says "We come in peace." Then draws his phaser and adds : "But we ARE prepared to defend ourselves!" Kirk was the man ... nuff said. Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise, original series for the win!!
Every single battle scene which featured the USS Defiant. I loved seeing that thing in action--that's why my STO Main has, and is sticking with, a Vigilant-Class Tactical Escort Vessel (seeing as how the Vigilant-Class is the successor to the Defiant-Class).
