Technically Earth isn't a planet. Planets are defined as celestial bodies. Celestial bodies are defined as natural objects visible in the sky. Earth is not visible in the sky, therefore it is not a celestial body, therefore it is not a planet.

Earth is visible in the Moon's sky, is it not? And as Mars is visible on Earth as a little red "dot," wouldn't Earth be visible in the Martian night sky as a little blue "dot?"

And Mars. :p I'd include the other planets, but Venus' sky is overcast all the time, Mercury's sky would be dominated by the sun, no matter which side you were one, and the gas giants have no solid surface (even if they did/do, same problem as Venus).
