Your link says only 22 of the Skymasters were made which went to the RAF. I think rarity still = big money. besides C-130 works fine. Push comes to shove we can mount weapons to it and reclassify it as Spooky.

Who ever figured the loadout on the A-130 is a friggin genius. A howitzer on an airplane! That'll ruin your day.

Not as bad as a fickin 30mm Gatling cannon that's as big as a car, fires rounds of depleted uranuim at 4200 rounds a minute, and is so frickin' heavy that the only plane that carries the sucker has to be propped up when the gun's removed. Not to mention said plane can take as much punishment as it dishes.

Ah, but the Spooky II mounts 2 25mm gatling guns, a 105mm howitzer, and a 40mm Bofors.

Still, the A-10's main cannon is a thing of destructive beauty.

I believe the Air Force has switched out the depleted uranium rounds for regular steel jacketed ones. Still, it's become part of the lore and mythology that surrounds the A-10.

Whenever I see those "Speed laws Enforced by Aircraft" Signs on Virginia roads, in my minds eye I do see an A-10 in Virginia Highway Patrol colors strafing speeders on the interstate

LOL Would certainly be a discouraging sight for an aggressive driver when they see that in their rear view. Although the state would have to allocate more funding for - ahem - pot hole repairs, to say nothing of removing the wreckage.
